Confidentiality and professional secrecy

Everything you discuss at the practice and all information about your health is confidential. The dentist and the staff are bound by medical professional secrecy under Romanian patient-rights legislation and the code of ethics applicable to dentists.

Information may be shared with others only with your agreement or in the situations expressly provided by law.

Information and consent

You have the right to be informed, in plain language, about your condition, treatment options, risks and alternatives, and about estimated costs, before you decide.

You have the right to accept or refuse a procedure and to ask for a second opinion. Consent may be withdrawn before the procedure is carried out.

Access to your data

You may request information from your medical records and copies of documents concerning you, under the conditions of the law.

Requests are made at the practice, verbally or in writing; for correct identification you may need to come in person.

Your personal data rights (GDPR)

As a data subject you have the following rights:

• The right of access to the data processed and to information about the processing.
• The right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• The right to erasure, insofar as no legal retention obligation applies (for example medical documentation).
• The right to restriction of processing, in the cases set out in Art. 18 GDPR.
• The right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• The right to portability of the data you provided, in the cases set out in Art. 20 GDPR.
• The right to withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent.

Please describe your request and indicate how we can reach you. Do not send medical documents by unsecured email.

Complaints

If you are dissatisfied, tell us directly — we try to resolve matters at practice level.

You may also contact the territorially competent College of Dentists regarding professional conduct.

For data protection, you may lodge a complaint with ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro) and seek a judicial remedy.

Clinical photographs and before/after images

The practice may publish clinical photographs of patients, including “before and after” images, on this website and on the practice's official pages.

Such images are published solely on the basis of a separate written authorisation, distinct from treatment consent, stating the purpose, the publication channels, how long the images remain published and the possibility of withdrawing the authorisation at any time.

Images are used without the patient's name and, wherever possible, are framed so that the person cannot be identified. Publication is never a condition of treatment, and a refusal has no effect on the care provided.

Withdrawal can be sent to webmaster@drcurteanu.ro and leads to removal of the images from the channels controlled by the practice, without affecting the lawfulness of publication before withdrawal.
